My Life
My name is Anthony Rovayo but everyone calls me either Ant or Rayo. Ant is just short for Anthony but Rayo was made up by my soccer coach because he could not quite pronounce it right. I play soccer every single day and started when I was seven years old. I would play in my backyard then started to play on huge turf field stadiums. I used to play during recess in school and would love to walk around everywhere with a ball at my feet. When I play soccer, I forget about everything else. To me, all my problems seem to suddenly disappear and everything is fine. I have a passion for playing the drums, soccer and going to church. I play the drums at my church for the youth group and have always been in love with it. Soccer has been a huge part of my life, I played for South Plainfield for six years then started playing for Scotch Plains-Fanwood then went to Ecuador to play for a semi-professional soccer team called Macara. I would describe myself as a very relaxed and laid back kind of guy and just always with a positive attitude. When it comes to writing, I let the words flow through me and let the words take over me. I allow the words to just come into my head and I write it down. I feel like I write extremely different when I plan it out because it is planned and not just popping into my head at the moment. My writing experience in high school was very lenient and I did not take it as serious. I really don't like to write but when I start, it is really hard to stop. My teachers would give me about two times for me to revise my paper in order to receive a higher grade which has helped me a lot. I learned a lot about writing in high school for example grammar rules and structure and about the five paragraph structure. I learned a lot and will use that knowledge for here at Fairleigh Dickinson for the years to come. I love to listen to rap but don't have a favorite rapper. I would listen to rap when coming home from school or going to school, before soccer games and when relaxing. I often use Snap Chat and Instagram but not as much. I would often post pictures here and there and just look at other peoples lives. I believe that the most important thing to learn this semester is to write in a professional matter and to write at a college level. My overall grade as a writer would be a 'C'. I believe I deserve this grade because there is always space for improvement and I am not as strong for writing.
